I'm having the same problem with my Acer loptop on my Vizio tv thru hdmi. This can be a solution to modern devices with many ports. Don't worry about the other boxes and stuff just proceed. Should it install new drivers, be sure to restart your computer. The hard drived failed so I got a new one and reinstalled the system.
If there is a corruption in the status between the devices and the Windows this usually fixes it. This can be found under the Services section of Administrative Tools in the Control Panel Section. I'm confident we have all the plugs in the right spot. After restart it worked fine. If it does not, you will be restarting anyway. You might have tried earlier solutions like updating audio driver etc, but still in vain. I checked in control panel under playback, and right clicked to show disabled devices, and the tv isn tlisted philips.
Though this has nothing to do with audio problems, but this could have impact on sound properties also. The selected default device on the sound icon, in the right bottom corner, works as default output device. If you have any questions or ideas, please feel free to leave your comments. I dont know whether you guys have tried this but it works for me. You need to find whether it is due to malaria, typhoid, pneumonia etc and then only the right medicine can be given. Use to see if the problem resolves.
Also try reinstalling chipset drivers from your laptop manufacturer as that controls how digital audio output works. He was suggested 2 methods. I'd recommend trying two things to see if it solves your problem: 1 Restart the Windows audio service.
